Phil was way to good at skating. when we met he had a sweet pony tail.......and
then he beat me in a contest. he could skate it all. graduated from CAL while being
a pro skateboarder. some girl drove him off a cliff climbed out of the wreckage and left phil
there alone to die.

man was he ever good. smooth as anything. never met the guy, but some people just radiate friendly and humble. pretty amazing to radiate humble right?
that accident was a 5 min walk from my old house. we built a little memorial for him. think its still there. was a huge loss.

I remember growing up seeing him skate at the tampa contests every year killing it. He stood out so much cause every single obstacle he skated he attacked with such style and grace.. I can still watch his part in the old emerica video and get super amped to go skate down the street. RIP
It Was weird building the skate compound that we built above the place he died. We called it Westheaven. Coming from the name Westhaven where we lived. That girl ended up in some home for a couple of years. she hit her head pretty hard and had no clue what happened. the tow-truck driver acually found phil a couple hours later. sad shit.
