isn't it strange.......

when folks are your "homie" "big dog" on social media but in person are a watered down version of that insta persona.  Use your hashtags wisely, morph into the new you, delete embarrassing posts..... it's all good. Who were you? but most of all who are you?
Opinionated... yes, unimpressed... possibly. Not as cool as you thought i was going to be... most likely..... but at least i get to be me.

  2. That's why I set the bar so low. If I put up something where I actually look cool I gotta post some embarrassing shit. Stay grounded, remember I a fucking dork. Half these dudes putting out a fake personality are way to insecure to even say hello in real life.

  3. Josh.... true. It's harsh being so judgmental, but sometimes it's just a matter of self preservation. It's so good to feel outside of your little bubble and check the world out, but to be truly false and reinvent yourself just soils all of it. It takes away from the the journey we had to go through to get to where we are at. I've never really liked people who cut in line.

  4. Man, seems exhausting to have to keep it up. It's gotta be hard to be the tough guy all the time when you're taking your kid to the playground. Like when you see those dumb "no fucks given" patches, what a farce. I can't think of a more convoluted way to show you don't care than buying a patch, seeing it on and advertising it. It's the complete fucking opposite of what it's stating. Besides, personally I think liking what you like regardless of others opinions is the coolest thing anyway. Whether it's guitars, motorcycles, chess or comic books. Thanks for the posts, I missed them.

  5. Most people want to be Insta-famous. I'm over here just trying to survive in a new career, sometimes caring too much what other people think. Trying to raise my sons-teaching them to be themselves no matter what..... and be kind, respectful and hard working young men. Life Is a struggle for everyone at times.... enjoy the ride as much as You can! Good talk.

  6. That quote from the proud highway is great. That book helped me realize life is experienced head on, not through a screen. Those who have experienced it first hand don't have anything to prove. Sadly some people tend to peacock on social media to compensate for their lack of experience. Being happy with yourself is more important than likes.

  8. This older post remains always relevant especially in light of that little IG back and forth a couple weeks ago. Remember pretending to be a cowboy or Indian, or a cop or robber when we were kids? What if everyone just kept pretending, and never went back to regular them. Imagine how tiring that would be day in and day out. Hope you are well Maximus.
