My 70's childhood was very similar. Dirt bikes (with cops giving chase), skate boards, Stones and punk, all hacked in a garage on dad's tools and his stereo gear. What I've learned is that is gave me a fearlessness that in other people is either a.) recognized as a fellow traveler or b.) intimidates the fuck out of them.
Outside from dawn till dusk. Sun burns, bug bites, black eyes, grass stains. Figuring shit out on the fly, making mistakes and learning from them, smelling like sweat and ketchup. I wouldn't change my childhood if I could. Hope my little girl and outrun technology long enough to be a kid. Childhood is golden
