great letter.
The man knew his poetry. Jim Morrison's peotry was/is terrible, pretentious stuff.
Best line he ever wrote was probably from "Horse Latitudes." the part about "mute nostril Agony."
The man was very, very lucky to Have Ray Manzarek
onboard with the band, so they had good instrumentals
and good arrangements.
So sick. Thanks Rich. I'm with Omar in Barcelona. I' can't way to show him this story. So cool.
god dammit this is amazing. ohhhh buk, a true original.
BUKOWSKI.
BUKOWSKI writing a column called "Diary of a Dirty Old Man"back in the 'sixties seemed a little weird-was anybody already OLD back then?-
But I looked up his bio and Buk was born in 1920--for some of us i guess 50 is old enough to be a dirty old man..at least .
Dr Sprocket has such great stories. Thanks Rich & Max for sharing with us. And I'm sure that Bukowski was a Dirty Old Man even when he was a teenager! man, he had some great stories. repetitive as hell, but great nonetheless.
Read some of Bukowski's novels like Ham on Rye -- "Henry Chinaski" was always a dirty old man. Good shit, this is very timely as I'm in the middle of Notes...Dirty Old Man right now. Fucking hysterical stuff.
"Tall Dollars" for a Bukowski original! Righteous! Thanks for sharing Max!
RES-PE-CT!!!
