@@@@ HIPSTER ALERT @@@@@@@@ 230 bucks for a pair of jeans! think i'll stick with my 25 dollar dickies!
@Beardy Creep:...
in Europe is €169.00 just a normal price for a fucking pair of jeans dude... that sucks i know... dont let me start about the price of a pair of Vans...
Goodloking jeans anyway but €169.00 is a lot of gasolina for my 2 babe :")
Cheers from Goldmine Holland :P
beardy--
though i understand where your coming from......
what you probably don't realize is your dickies are made in a sweatshop and mass produced.
these guys are trying to do something small scale out of high quality material the way things used to made.
I still wear dickies too sometimes, but i got sick of going through them every month. Levi's 501's are shit now too... i end up buying the selvage denim ones off ebay cause the material is so much stronger. They last 6 months everyday use.
respect that these guys are a small company and have worked in the denim industry for years they ride bikes and wanted to try to do there own thing.
STEELERS? Say it ain't so!
i forget how to type laughter
hehe?
born in PA.
"whoa!" your dickes only last a month? do you work for the public works department of Oakland. and they drag you by the ass to test the depth of the potholes? as for third world labor..fuk them...my first 3 months of pay goes to the federal government, i live in IL. state income tax was just raised 66%, i also live in cook county, highest gas prices in the U.S. @@@breaking news@@@@ i just looked at the tag in my sexy sexy 4Q hoodie and it reads MADE IN (El Salvador) explain that one, homie!
dude, you're blowin it...you should move to california where everything is Made in America and the cost of living is the lowest in the world.
"homie" re-read. i'm just explaining why there shit costs$$. my brain was made in Indonesia. Yes hoodie is guarenteeeeed sweatshop. I skateboard so dickies go quick. Just explaining why well made goods made by a small co. might cost. no righteous don't buy
dickies, go vegan, go green rant. I'm drinking a budweiser brewed in napal.
We do what we can. We support the people who support us.
Realism and idealism need to mix a bit more these days, unless you own a sewing machine, champ. Pretty sure that isn't the case.
I wear my 501's till they unravel, then I steal my womans Sassoon's and ride the skinny jean wave for a while. Tip for the Dickie troop...go to Kmart and pick up some Craftsman trousers. Look the same, cheaper (probably made in micronesia or haiti) and are pretty tough.. fashionista bikerz
Those jeans look pretty cool and tuff to. I do notice levis not lasting as long and fading quicker your rite man.
Max, I get what your saying about why they cost much but still thats alot. As far as Dickies go, I skate too lots and if they rip, cool now I have shorts or i can afford a new pair. 501's still work for me, but what i dont get is why dont you just wear your sponsers pants, 4 star??? shit should be free for you...
Beardy Creep = faggot
He is the polar opposite of the hipster spectrum. You don't have anything to really complain about. You got "white problems". Get a grip and lighten up.
SMILE.
Doing a few wallets for these guys, using the denim in the design too. Should be sick! Hope to be gettin' some off the barter system, it's the only way to roll these days!
You get what you pay for. SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES. This is always the case but now more than ever. No rant just the truth.
4star... pants yes.
good for skating and the price
is right. my people.
same goes for them though
they can't use the loom made raw denim
and sell to broke ass skaters so they
do the best they can.
Max, get your sweatshop kids busy sewing up some more 4Q hoodies. Mass produce that shit, I missed the last go round. Black and Gold.
will do.
eat dust hello? comments? zodiac sign?
people can talk shit all they want until they actually try and have a product made themselves using their own hard earned pay! Really takes some balls to start up an endevor like this in a world like ours. But then you go to forigein countrys like japan where the general public actually cares about how they look and style and you are like whoa, americans are slobby cheap mother fuckers!
Anyways, just saying as a small biz owner myself with american made products, its a tough row to hoe. don't like it, don't buy it, it's simple. But rants about someone's hard work, lame.
Well put.
I love that...dragged by the ass to test pothole comment.
Awesome...
Anything good is expensive....thats it
You get what u pay for
Well put Grant and Max!!!!!!
Been thinking about this all day now because i get it, but don't understand the need to complain about things like this. Can't afford it? Don't buy it>
An analogy that i hope makes sense:
mig welded aftermarket hardtail done to a shovel frame is equal to dickies at walmart. they are both cheap and get the job done. tig welded hardtail section with cast axle plates tig'ed to stock frame is more expensive, has better looks, does the basic same job as first. knuckle rear section grafted to swingarm frame that uses rigid rear tranny crossmember and done all to look like a stock rigid frame but you get to keep your '70-up neck numbers sure is a lot of work, looks killer, does basic job of the first two, but is more unique and would cost the most to have someone do. it's your choice, your money, or your hardwork. Maybe you'll be the only one that knows the truth. If you don't have the skills and not much money you'll probably go with the first, if you have the skills and no money you'll probably go with one of the the last two.
Maybe you don't care what they look like you just want pants. one is not worse than the other, but they all fill a need or purpose in some way. I can't sew well, but i can weld. I will buy my pants and do my own fab work. it all depends on how you want to look. it all matters even if you say it doesn't...now get out there and make something regardless of what medium it is.
I now step off my high horse, but will promptly get back on to defend small business and a skilled craft. complaining without action is NOT a skilled craft.
I know are pants are not the cheapest ones but they are also not the most expensieve once's in that kind of product category, We are trying very hard to offer a quality product.
We try to work with local factories over here but that means that the costs are a bit higher.
Because no one want to work at 5 euro a day wages
This way we try to contribute to the local economy. People who are always complaying about the prices of stuff are also the once who then complay that all work has gone the low coast countries.
Thanks Grant, Chris & Max for the support
well put grant, now i must cut that santee off my shovel frame. poo.
max, brown hoodies will sell too.
Hey Harmsen, hedde gai ok zo'n bruukske vur min? Ik woon nog steeds in Aarle dus ik zie ze wel verschijne : Size 36/34 Zwart graag.

Hit the wayback machine Mr. Peabody. It's the only way. $5.95 Levi's, $12.95 Chucky T's, and $14.95 Pendletons. Now if I could only buy one of those new FM radio's and a new fangled color 19" T.V.
Hi everyone, we have seem to stir up quit some discussion. Just wanted to point out a couple of things. We want to bring a higher quality product and therefore we are paying more to let our jeans be made on old looms by one of Japan’s best denim fabric makers that create a narrower fabric with a self-edge. The denim is double ring spun which makes it more labor intense but makes the fabric a lot stronger. We like quality product and love Americana, we love Dickies and skate in them ourselves, we wear Redwing shoes which are higher priced and are made in America and of high quality.
It’s also about finding the thing you like to wear and for instance combining a Hanes Tee with a higher priced jean or an expensive jacket with less expensive shoes. You wear what you like.
We hope that for the people that want to buy our product they feel comfortable in them and like to wear a denim piece that is not mass produced and a bit different from the rest. We like denim and motorcycles and hope we can keep doing what we like and find some people that like to wear our product. The Dollar / Euro ratio is not in favor to by from Europe but we know our product in not crazy priced for what it is and see other brands with similar quality denim for around the same price or more. Thanks for the people that support us!
I don't have a disposable income but I'm always willing to pay a premium for handmade goods created by people with a passion for what they do. Eat Dust, when are those jackets coming back in stock?
It's a little sad that he needs to defend his new product. Some stuff is not for everyone. Nice pants and don't stop doing your thing.
My heart broke when my fave 5 (Vans, Wino's/Zig Zags, Ben Davis, Levi's & Derby of SF)all relocated their manufacturing overseas, AND the quality went slightly downhill (& a lot of people in the bay area lost their jobs). You know who were primarily responsible for that, not foreigners, CHEAPSKATE MOTHERFUCKERS thats who (& maybe the corporate guys & the unions, NUMMI plant anyone?). I will refer to all the previous posters, quality costs $$$, is that "hip" or common sense? Dickies has been cutting-corners forever(prison-labor & Maquiladoras) before they jumped over to mfg in the 3rd world (Pakistan, Indonesia etc.), wear that brand with PRIDE! At present Dickies is selling the 874"Union" ltd. ed pant, if you buy a pair they then donate a pair to the Salvation Army-Detroit, who then distribute them to unemployed union-autoworkers in the greater Detroit-Michg area, the only problem is the pants are made OVERSEAS. Hey, Dickies here's an idea: how about just opening a factory in Detroit? If you want a blue-jean that has no perceived hipster-cred-stigma try Pointer Brand (pointerbrand.com), they're union-made in Tennessee for the last 98 years (if you been in the US Army you know them) & their chore-coats are "firme!". Do your own thing, whatever, sorry for the rant Max.
"Give respect, get respect"
No bitching out of me. Love the scarf under the jeans. I own the same one.
ftwdclxvi..... perfect. you nailed it.
the dickies union example say's it all.
