Was fortunate enough to see the Pogues reunite in Seattle a couple of years ago, they were killer!!!! Couldn't understand anything Shane said in between songs. He looked to be having a good 'ol time. I'm sure you've seen the doc. If I Should Fall From Grace...kinda sad and brilliant...for that is Shane I guess, Goddamn.
Seen the Pogues over here in the UK numerous times from the mid '80's on and when Shane was thrown out saw him with his band The Popes and then back with the Pogues. Genius. This song was written by Scottish folk singer Ewan McColl about the city of Salford ,which is still a fuckin shithole 50yrs after the song was written. Don't know how the fucker is still alive after the stick his body has had, pints of Martini anyone
