  9. thanks.
the hi-top is higher on the inside
so yer ankle is more protected against the motor. it is also flame "retard"nt.
the shoes can be a little hard to find because they're only sold in select skate shops.
every idea for this shoe like the grips and box and everything was made possible by jay and jon at vans...
"i dont think we can do that" was never said by those two.

  19. Answers to some questions:

    1. You can get them in Europe. If you go to the Vans Syndicate website they have a list of US and European stockists. http://www.vanssyndicate.com/dealers.html

I got my pair in the UK.

    2. For the questions about the soles:

Syndicate Vans have thicker insoles/footbeds than the standard Vans. They're like the ones in the TNT IIs or J-Lay shoes (not like the original Skate Hi's or Half-Cabs, which are very thin). The actual soles themselves are the Vans waffle ones but they're the newer, thinner, Boardfeel waffles, like on the TNT4. They're still proper vulcanised soles, though, NOT like the Boardfeel ones on the Dollin shoes.

The Shaafs DON'T have the metal plate like the Jesse Syndicates had.

NOTE: I only have the Shaaf Mountains - I'm not sure if the sole is the same on the low tops. But my guess is that there's a high chance it is.

Overall, they're my favourite Syndicate editions so far. And the packaging is awesome.

Hope you all find a pair.

  25. I spoke with vans earlier this week ( i own a shop and am a syndicate dealer) and they are scheduled to release from the warehouse on tuesday the 18th. Depending on where you live they will arrive anywhere from the 19th to the 24th. We hope to have ours for a saturday 22nd release at SILO. (and yes we can take phone orders for those that cant find them in their area.)

Im super stoked for this drop, everything syndicate touches is golden, but these are extra dope. Amazing job on the packaging, its such a thorough and well thought out release.

    Congratulations Max!

  30. Whatever, whack-ass SYNDICATE (jk) they don't even make 13's anymore. I had better end up with a few pairs of these grips or The Good Capt. Cooke is gonna get lumped up, LOL....

  32. Is the shoe in distribution, or is it coming out soon? I can`t find it online, and there aren`t any Vans Syndicate dealers in Tejas. Somebody hook me up with an online source. My Redwing boots need a groovy replacement!

  33. in California, DLX store in SF got some yesterday, ACTIVE mailorder will have some soon too...

  34. Hey thanks to those above that supported the shoe release, your pairs are on the way!

Everyone else, i dont want to do max disservice and turn this into a buy and sell, but all areas should have received their shipments by now. If you are not familiar w/ the syndicate program you can check their site for a dealer close to you. if you are out of luck we are running slim on pairs but feel free to hit me up, we have had interest from all over the world with this release and are happy to help.

    best,

  35. hi brant,
do these come in smaller sizes like 7? let me know if you have any in stock. thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is there any way to order these direct from Vans Syndicate? I'm assuming not and not that sucks. Live in Houston and no dealer. Figures.

Good looking shoes and I'm digging on the grips too. Gotta find me a pair.

  37. ive got a pair of black grips and red grips that i have no use for.
i was going to put them up on ebay, but i figured you guys here would be far more interested in them.
    let me know!

  38. febreezy-

the pre pack starts at size 8, sorry. they used to do small sizes but havent since 004 release or so (these are 009). they run about a 1/2 size more snug than vans classics due to the syndicate insole, and then with the premium materials are even a touch tighter, esp the mountain editions. I would dare to say the mountain editions would fit a full size smaller than the regular release mountain editions.

Not trying to put you into any moonboots by any means, just offering a little insight. i can def. help you out if you want to pick up some 8's.

    hope that helps a little!

    brant
